Where to Kitesurf?

kitesurf spot lagoon in parajuru uruau brazil

Parajuru

The most southeastern of the four spots, Parajuru offers a stunning stretch of white sand bordered by dunes and offshore sandbanks. At high tide, these sandbanks form a series of shallow, flatwater lagoons — ideal for freestylers and beginners. Just offshore, a wave spot gradually builds as the tide rises. A bit further southeast, the Rio Piranji river mouth also offers excellent flatwater conditions.

Uruaú

This spot has two lagoons; one directly by the sea that fills and empties with the tide and is fairly small, accommodating around 4–5 kites. The second lagoon lies about 2 km inland, and its size depends partly on rainfall during the wet season. Out in the open sea, low tide brings semi-flat water with small waves near the shore, while high tide delivers increasingly larger waves, great for wave riding.

Barra Nova

Like the other spots, Barra Nova offers both lagoon and ocean conditions. At the mouth of the Rio Choró, high tide creates smooth, flatwater lagoons. When the tide drops, head out to sea for great wave conditions. About 10 km northeast, near the mouth of the Rio Mal Cozinhado, there’s another lagoon, and across it, a fun wave spot to explore.

Iguapé

Just 35 km from Fortaleza, Iguapé is known for its massive sand dune and a hill that runs into the sea, generating waves up to 2 meters with flatwater in between. These conditions are ideal for wave riding and boosting big airs when conditions are strong.
