This isn’t just a downwinder — it’s a full-immersion coaching journey. Over ten days, you’ll follow the coast from Taiba to Icaraizinho, riding perfect side-shore wind, carving clean waves and learning from every session.
Each day is carefully planned to balance progression and exploration. Mornings often start with focused drills, technique tips, or theory sessions led by our wave rider coach. Afternoons are pure flow — long downwinds through rolling surf and golden beaches, with the coach and the Freeride Kitesurf crew guiding you in the water and capturing footage for evening video reviews.
You’ll explore classic wave spots like Taiba, Paracuru and Guajirú, finishing in Icaraizinho, one of Brazil’s most iconic surf-kite bays. By the end of the trip, you’ll have refined your turns, improved timing, and gained the confidence to ride with more style and control — wherever the wind takes you next.

Our coaches, have either been pro-riders in the past or have a vast experience in coaching riders of all levels, but one characteristic is always a must — they are passionate watermen with years of professional experience in both freestyle and wave disciplines. Their approach blends technical precision with the relaxed energy that makes learning fun.
Alongside our coaches, the Freeride Kitesurf support team keeps every session safe and seamless. An in-water guide rides with the group, backed by 4×4 drivers following the coastline and providing water, fruits, gear and transfers. Radios keep everyone connected and small group sizes ensure every rider gets personal feedback.

DAY 1
Meet at 10:00 in Taiba. Welcome briefing and first wave session in punchy side-onshore waves — perfect for warming up your legs and getting dialed in.
DAY 2
First morning video analysis session, then full coaching day at Taiba’s wave spot. Ideal for carving practice, transitions and learning to read the sets.
DAY 3
Video analisis just after breakfast. Transfer to Pecém just before wind starts blowing. Focused wave riding and positioning drills. Great spot for clean left-handers.
DAY 4
Your first downwind mission! Ride past open beach breaks and arrive at Paracuru — option to session the legendary Quebramar wave.
DAY 5
Video review and advanced feedback in the morning. Ride buttery flat inside sections and clean, peeling waves.
DAY 6
Ride long beaches and river mouths toward Guajirú. Enjoy rolling wave sections and a golden-hour landing.
DAY 7
Video analysis and coaching day on a beautiful stretch. Short, playful downwind to Emboaca and back by 4x4 for a chill sunset session.
DAY 8
A long scenic downwind with a mix of wave and flatwater sections. Arrive in Icaraizinho for a well-earned caipirinha.
DAY 9
Ride Icaraizinho’s playful point break and enjoy relaxed conditions. Optional drone review of your best wave lines.
DAY 10
Depending on flight times, morning to relax, surf, kite or return transfer to Fortaleza.

Throughout the journey from Taíba to Icaraizinho, you’ll stay in carefully selected pousadas that blend comfort with authentic Brazilian charm. These locally owned guesthouses are close to the beach, kite-friendly, and offer a relaxing space to recharge between sessions.
Daily buffet breakfast is included, and we’ll accommodate dietary preferences whenever possible. After long days of kiting and coaching, enjoy local cuisine, fresh seafood, and laid-back dinners with the group; cold caipirinhas optional but highly encouraged.
Wave riding is thrilling and safety is key. That’s why this trip includes in-water coaching from pro coach and wave rider, plus full 4×4 beach support (as far as terrain allows).
Not every stretch is driveable due to cliffs, rivers, or mangroves, but support vehicles are always nearby when possible. Groups stay small (max 10 riders), with 1–2 coaches and guides ensuring everyone rides safely and progresses confidently.
If conditions become too advanced, you can opt to ride in the vehicle for that section; no pressure, just smart adventure.
Bring your best wave setup and some backups, as repairs in remote areas can be difficult. Ideally, pack two kites — around 7m and 9m for men or 5m and 8m for women — along with one or two surfboards or directionals, with a twintip as an option for rest days. A spare bar, extra lines, a repair kit, and replacement fins or footstraps are smart to have, and don’t forget a valve adapter if your kite uses a non-standard system. With water temperatures at 27–28°C, a wetsuit isn’t necessary; we’ll provide a Freeride Kitesurf lycra and cap for sun protection. Booties are optional but can be useful at some rocky entries. Strong sun protection is essential, so bring polarized sunglasses, zinc, and a long-sleeve rashguard to handle the Brazilian sun.

Just finished an epic trip with Freeridekitesurf- the classic downwinder. Great kiting, great people, super well organized. The guides were amazing (thank you Jo!). Because of the guides local knowledge, we hit the best spots at the best time, taking all the guess work out of the trip.
